The Camera follows much the same external shape and design of other Minolta bodies, this particular one is Chrome and Black. All black bodies like the X700 were also produced. The X500 has a different top plate layout, on the left is the film rewind handle, in its base is the ISO dial not very visible and alongside this is the on/off switch.

Apr 6, 2021. #1. Got a new camera, a Minolta x500 with a 35mm f2.8, the lens I had left over from my previous x700 (which I sold) and my SRT graveyard. I like the handling a lot so far, about a year ago I shot a bit with the x700 but did not like it at all, and sold it shortly after. I have some rolls ready for tomorrow, can't wait!!!!

The X-500 (X-570) is arguably the best 35mm SLR ever made by Minolta (next to the X-700), and 60 is a great price for it even if it's not in great condition. As long as everything works, go for that. Assuming film stays alive for awhile, I think the X-500 is a model that will see a fair amount of appreciation as cameras like consumer grade.
